Beware of Loan Quest

hi all,

Hope you are well,

I recently thought of buying second hand car and needed to see if I would be able to get an loan searching through the internet I came across an application form under the name Loan Quest , as with some loan applications there is a form you should fill in as I did and at the end of the form there was a tic box witch you have to tic to see if you qualify for a loan I ticked the box and didn’t read through the terms and conditions as I should have but a long story short, we decided not to go ahead with the loan and didn’t fill in any forms or send back any replies as I thought you need to send in a signed form should you decide to take the loan

A month later I had an unexpected debit order deduction of my account and after finding out where it is from saw the company Loan Quest, I phoned up the lady and she very rudely shouted at me and said I did a digital signature and therefore have to pay a registration fee of R 400 and after that R99 per month for 12 months I told her I did not accept any money or anything and she told me that I digitally signed for a legal advice package for a fixed term of 12 months and should I want to end the contract I have to pay a cancellation fee of R 1 002.00

I asked her if there is no reasonable amount witch I can pay as this is the full amount of the term after my R 400 registration fee and according to my knowledge I cannot be charged the full amount of the contract but she was extremely rude and unreasonable, I feel I was ****med into this as no one phoned me or explained to me anything about this package

I attached the link to the web page as I found it and filled it in https://www.loanquestsa.co.za/lqsa/apply-online/ I had no idea that I was busy applying for an legal advice contract as I was trying to get a loan for a car, this company has all the holes filled in their t&c's and do not want to be reasonable in letting me end something I do not want, they are forcing me to use their service as I will pay the same amount over a 12 month period or an upfront payment of the full contract amount should I cancel now

I really do not want to waste all that money on something I do not want and realise I should have read the terms and conditions but as I only did a loan application to see if I qualify for it did not think I will be caught in a trap like this

i know they will probably blacklist me should I cancel the debit as they obviously deal with the credit readings and obviously do not care about people

please be aware and do not tic the box
