Unauthorised Debit Order

I had a service agreement with Loan Connector SA whic was due for renewal on 14th August 2016. I received an email from the company on 17th June informing me of my options to terminate or continue with the agreement which would incur a cost of R429.00

I responded on 23rd June via email notifying Loan Connector SA to terminate the agreement.

However, on 31st August 2016 an amount of R429 was debited from my bank account. I have sent numerous emails and contacted them via telephone to request a refund and only received confirmation today that a refund will be processed, but it will take 45 days!

See extract from the email I received below:

"Terminating the Agreement

4. Should you wish to terminate the agreement?

4.1 You must expressly notify us of your intention to do so on or before the anniversary date, being 2016/08/13, and such notification should be made telephonically (Tel: ***), or **********
4.2 Even though we keep an accurate backup of all correspondence, we advise that you retain proof of your notice of termination as we may request this proof in future.

4.3 Should you have expressly notified us of your termination, we will amend our records and you will not be held liable for any further fees."

Item 4.3 states that I "will not be held liable for any further fees", but they did not adhere to this statement and now inform me that I must wait an additional 45 days to receive my refund. This is totally unacceptable and poor business ethic. Consumers need to be made aware that this is an unprofessional company.
