Failure to correct House Alteration plan
Early this year I went to website called Snulpit looking for an architect company for my home alteration/extension various companies approached me one was Innerlight living they were quick to respond and the first company to come for site inspection, they quoted me and demanded all payment upfront before starting with the work including municipal approval, the plan was submitted to the municipality and there were corrections to be made. That is where my nightmare began, I was the one who followed up with the municipality because after they submitted they no longer provided feedback. I told them that the municipality issued a correction that's when they started demanding more money from me, I paid them but corrections were not done, they demanded more money over and over until one day they sent me a quotation for R30 000 and said I must apply for a second dwelling I told them that I do not have that money and second dwelling will cost me more in terms of rates over time. I contacted the municipality they informed me that the plan needed minor alteration as they advised the company in question. I told this to the owner and she demanded an additional R3000 to alter her work. This has left me very frustrated, I feel that they have taken advantage of me and refuse to make corrections to correct their work. I have paid this company in full and in good faith but instead, they have looted me to a point that I don't have hope that they will complete my project and they are also refusing to refund me. this project started in January and to date, they are giving me a runaround, Is that how business is conducted in architecture? I demand that my plan be completed and approved or the company must refund me in full including all costs provided to them.
