Shocking treatment

I am totally shocked and upset at how my daughter has been treated. She broke her ankle on Tuesday and ended up in casualty. We got there at 2030 on Tuesday 16 July. She got no pain meds or even checked on. While there it is shocking to see how people get treated and the smell of urine is overwhelming. The elderly are left to just wet themselves and no one checks on any patient. The nurse goes around saying she is not there to spoil patients. My daughter saw a doctor around 0230 the Wednesday morning. I was told she needs xrays and told to wheel her myself on the bed to radiology. Once back the doctor came to say they will try reset and we need to wait for the head orthopedic on duty. She she only given something for pain at 0315, almost 7 hours after getting there. We then waited. Eventually the surgeon got to casualty Dept after 7 and took her in. Once again after the set the foot I was told to wheel her on my own to xrays. News was bad and she was told she needs surgery. But worst part, told it can be a wait for a bed and then weeks before surgery. She had to wait on the bed in casualty till Thursday evening around 10pm for a bed in the ward. While in casualty not once being asked for help to the bathroom. I would help her when I got there which ended up being once a day.... Totally not a healthy situation for a young lady.

Since being in the ward in Thursday evening she has not once seen a doctor. She has no idea what is happening. Even worse is the fact that they ran out of pain medication on the ward and has not had any pain meds since yesterday morning. How is this possible... That is plain bad planning.

Because we are forced to use state or government hospitals is no excuse for being treated so badly. These nurses and doctors have all taken an oath which means nothing to them, it is just a job with a pay check... No compassion for the patients.

And then yesterday the cleaner even had an attitude and was upset when she had to pick up something on the floor my daughter had dropped. She apparently threw it at her. This is not acceptable at all... She cannot bend to pick something up. She was not given a little bedside cupboard so her stuff is in her bag on a chair and honestly things do fall off.

I am so upset that my daughter needs to go through this and see this side of people when I have taught my kids to be compassionate and kind to all
