Livestainable refusing refunds and warranty

I purchased a 600W inverter from Livestainable online, It is a standalone plug-and-play device that does not require professional installation, I received the unit and plugged it in as per the instructions, seemed to work fine, The next day on loadshedding nothing worked. I took the inverter to a nearby battery shop as i live far from Livestainable. The shop told me the inverter is not charging the batteries. I Informed Livestainable that i wanted to send the unit back for refund as its an out of box failure. They demanded a handling fee which i was shocked by and now they are saying that they need proof it does not charge and certificates of testing and pictures etc. Also now asking that I get a letter from an electrician stating the unit does not work. I have already sent it back to them. Be careful because they seem to be trying to not be accountable. At this stage i have no inverter from them, They refuse to acknowledge me or the issue and no management or owners are available. Will not give cell numbers out

Good day Chris, thank you for taking the time to express your feelings. In our defense, you acknowledged that the inverter was taken to a different party. We always need to get the item back ourselves for testing, the inverter was not supp**** to you by this party and therefore we can no longer accept the return on that item. We do not accept returns/refunds in such a case that items purchased from us is sent to alternative parties. The item needs to come to us as that is where it came from. We also asked that you provide a testing report from this party to try look over this, but you did not supply this to us so we therefore could not verify the competency of the testing. Nevertheless, we are not able to accept returns and refunds on used, opened or if manufacturer specific requirements have not been met. For instance, On the installation manual of the inverter there is a clear notice stating that no warranty or claims will be entertained if not installed by a qualified electrician. To which you also confirmed in writing that the installation was done by yourself, so unless you can supply us with your relevant electrical qualification documents, we are unfortunately not going to be able to assist you.  We hope you understand.
