December is laid back time for this company

Placed order & paid for item 19 December 2023. The website message read that they will be closing on 22 December 2023. I called twice to confirm that my order will be released before they close for December holidays. No interest to even consider the order. Eventually received iten 23 January 2024 - a month later. No apology, just a note stating that they did not have stock. So why did you accept the order ?
