Lisa Cars refusing to refund my full deposit, after failing to deliver what they promised.

On the 20th of February 2020 I went to Lisa Cars and the Email below was my experience....

I went to Lisa Cars in the Fourways branch seeking to purchase a Ford Fiesta , which was not available at the visited branch. The manager went online and found my desired car in their Sandton branch. I then went to Lisa Cars in Sandton, found the car with a few faults which they agreed to fix before purchase. The manager in the fourways branch asked me to pay a deposit of R30.000 in order to suit my instalment that I was comfortable with, which I did on the 28th of February 2020. Three days later I got a call from Samson who is an FNI manager in the creditor’s department in Lisa Cars Fourways to collect the car as it was ready for delivery. When my mechanic and I inspected the car before signing any documents, we discovered that no changes had been made and in addition to that the car was dirty and in the engine there was a rat house , the wires were chewed up and there were no document to prove that the car had gone for service and a check up as agreed. I felt that I was no longer interested in the Fiesta, based on the disappointment and dissatisfaction. I told Samson that I would no longer be purchasing the Fiesta. A few hours later ,I received a call from the manager informing me that I wasn’t going to get a full refund because they were charging me for delivering the car from Sandton to their Fourways branch. The following day I decided to go to their Kempton Park branch to see if there was no car that I would like... I then took interest in a VW Polo Vivo which I took for a test drive on the following day with my mechanic and one of their sales agent. To my surprise the car was faulty, there were squeaky sounds when changing the gears and brakes were worn out. I complained to the accounts lady who promised to ensure that the car will go to their Sandton branch to get it fixed. The following day I decided I wanted nothing to do with Lisa Cars and cancelled the deal with them, because I felt they were consistent in selling faulty cars and did not trust in continuing with them any longer. I then spoke to the Lisa Cars accounts lady in the Sandton branch who, also confirmed that I would not get the full amount that I had initially paid. I feel It’s unfair for me to be penalised/ punished for their unprofessionalism, untrustworthiness and unreliable cars and on top of that, to show that I had a good business intention with Lisa Cars, I gave them a second chance, I drove all the way to their Kempton Park branch, in hoping to find what I liked and still got disappointed. I therefore demand my R2000 they have withheld.
