Lionel Motors Rustenburg

I was employed by Lionel Motors Rustenburg as sales manager. Inicially everything went very well, and having started in July 2017, I had a view excellent months with my team.

One month last year we had a bad month, and I was called in for a 'so called' review. I was told to sign a review letter which I did, although the actual review was only a matter of being told to be more strict with the team and get more business.

During January and February 2018 we had 2 bad months, and sales went down considerably. As the average turnover dropped in these 2 months, I realised that the attitude from the dealer peinciple also went cold towards me. As we completed month end in February, I was called in and told that I have to attend a hearing for non performance a few days later. I was also told that I should know that the Franchise Executive and head office are seeking dismissal. The attitude then went absolute sour towards me, and as I have a excellent name in the automotive industry in this area, I felt that this will ruin my reputation and had no other choice but to resign. I gave my notice to end at the end of March, and this was accepted. During the first few days after resigning, All went well until the dealer principle came in on a Friday afternoon, closed the door and told me that I shoul rather finish immediatly. In this same discussion I was promised to receive my fulle remuneration for that month, and also my commission which was a considerate amount. I was also told that by the end of April I will receive my bonus, and I left.

A few days later I received a call from the Franchise Executive, and was told that I wrongly reported 5 vehicles with the manufacturer. In this conversation I was also told that I was not allowed to do so without prior authorisation from the COO himself, and that I will be held accountable for the floorplan interest on these vehicles that month. I accepted this as according to my knowledge the interest per vehicle is only a couple of hundred rand.

At the end of the month I only received my basic salary, and as I enquired about this to the dealer principle, I was told that head office gave the order to not pay my commission. I was also told that my leave pay will be paid out a few days later, which I did receive. I then emailed the dealer peinciple and requested a statement showing how much the floorplan interest was for the period, but never received any response.

At the end of April I also did not receive my bonus as promised, and I send an email to him again. Also no response. This left me in dire straights as I bargained on this money whilst seeking other employment.

My complaint against Super Group Pty Ltd is that they have not paid me as promised. Yes we did have bad months (as all other dealerships in town went through a bad patch), and they kept my money after promising to pay me. I accept that vehicles was reported, but I never received any training as manager from them in this period, and I was employed as manager knowing that I had no previous knowledge of this position and I also never received any guidaance in this regard. I never eceived any feedback on my requestes to prove fund payable for the floorplan, and also never received my bonus as promised.

I want Des Van Zyl (dealer principle) and Craig Burns (franchise executive), as well as Alistair Rawstone (COO) to please take this up as I want my money. You never trained me in any way, and no guidance was given to what was allowed and not.
