Is Lion Life of Africa Assurance a legit company?

My siblings and I have been trying to call Lion of africa life assurance with regards to our late mothers living annuity she signed with N-E-FG Administrators for the past 3 months to not get any assistance. Our mother passed away in August 2021, the very same month we put in a claim and sent all necessary documents to N-e-fg. March 2022 N-e-fg tells us their company is under administration and we should now contact Lion life going forward for our late moms living annuity claim, as for some reason they partnered with Lion life. We've sent several emails even to their complaints department and no one has ever responded. When calling their call center agents, we're always asked to leave our contact details and that one of the managers will call us back, no one calls back. We're residing in Gauteng, their office is based in Cape Town, which makes it difficult for us to even go to their office. This is really frustrating, our mom trusted them with her hard earned money. We're wondering if this company is really legit.
