Claim Pending APPROVAL with Lion of Africa Insurance/One Sure Direct Brokers
I have registered two claims with Lion Of Africa Insurance via One Sure Direct Brokers since January 2019. The one claim is for the dents on the car due to another car that has bumped into mine on the 16th December 2018 at Riverspray Life Style Estate, Vanderbijlpark and the other claim that is also registered, is for the ******* that happened at Maliming Lodge in Limpopo on the 12 January 2019. The investigator/assessor was appointed by the insurer to investigate both the integrity of the claims, he then compiled the report and thereafter submitted the report to the insurer in the middle of February 2019. Up to this date, both the Broker and the Insurer have not responded positively to both the claims in question, as to how far are the claims in terms approval. The claims have not been settled yet and the only comment that the Broker explained via telephone call was that, Lion Of Africa Insurance is facing challenges in terms of shortage of resources/employees hence the delay on the claims and that she is still awaiting the insurer's feedback. The complaint has been registered with Ombudsman against the Insurance and the Broker. The broker is aware that the complaint is now with Ombudsman. I then received a call from the broker on the 22 May 2019 and Annetjie( the broker) made a comment that, she can see that the claim is now registered with Ombudsman for complains and continued saying that, I should not be calling her for any progress on the claims since Ombudsman is now handling the investigations. I have requested for a courtesy car from the day I reported the claims and I was never allocated with one up to this date and I did indicate that the car was un-drivable due to the ****** car keys during *******. I have been making own transport arrangements ever since the car has been towed and stored at Polokwane BMW Legacy since the 12 January 2019. I was also told that the storage cost will be covered by the insured once the claim is approved. Both the broker and the insurer have not been honest and loyal to me as a client and all the premiums are up to date. They are not specifying the exact date on when the investigation will be concluded. When I call for progress I have been referred from one individual to another and there is no clear response. Your assistance will be highly appreciated as you’re my last hope!
