Money upfront, no result

This company was appointed by AEG as their agent to fix my microwave oven. They charged thousands of rand upfront, ordered parts and returned to fix it. It still didn't work and they then took it to their workshop. They then kept it for weeks. I kept calling, but nobody returned my calls, except when I called AEG to complain. After all this time they brought it back when AEG contacted them. But then the light was broken. It worked otherwise for ten minutes and then broke again. Now we're moving away to Cape Town in two days and it's a mess. It's not clear why AEG uses this business.

Last week Mr Naude with the listed phone number spoke to the owner , Mervin , and the both gentlemen agreed on delivery for last Friday which we honoured. You make mention that the unit was not working at all.

The unit was tested by the technician in the presence of Mr and Mrs Naude( trusting we have the proper understanding of the relationship) between the two clients that were present. For your further information - we charge according to rates set by AEG -

we had quoted you on the replacement of the magnetron, diode and capacitor which then allowed your unit to function however we do accept that the bulb was faulty which we did not replace in our workshop. When the quote was sent to you, you very graciously paid in full which we appreciate.

All spares despatched by our offices are done so upon confirmation of payment by the client. this is done as when we order and collect spares from AEG - we have to settle the account in full upon collection. so in turn we carry forth the same protocol to our client.

In our workshop we further found the transformer to be faulty which was not included on the initial quote but we did replace it and no additional charge to you respectively. We called out, you paid in full , we rendered a service.

Reviewer Update
Further information, 2 days later: I don't want to prolong this, but 2 points in response to the owner's response to this review:
1. LA didn't ever return any of my several calls, except on one occasion when I had, as a last resort, complained to AEG. Proper communication might have prevented all of this.
2. It is factually simply incorrect that the appliance worked after it was returned. It did not switch on at all, as demonstrated to LA's workmen upon their last visit. (There is no 'Mrs Naude', incidentally.) This problem was ultimately fixed during this last visit (according to the workmen, by 'changing a setting').

After a month and almost 2 dozen calls to AEG and LA, the appliance is now back and working.
