Billed while not using the services

When I took out the Fibre package with them they indicated that it's a month to month contract however they are now not allowing me to cancel. I signed up through Linteg Fibre. I paid for most of this year even when I have not been using their services. In September I asked for the services to be paused as I would be out of town again, they are refusing and continue billing me.
