Lima Cars are terrible
Do not deal with this LIMA CARS in Rosettenville car dealership.
I on behalf of Friend Recently paid a Deposit on a car (Mahindra 100 1.2) from Lima cars that She wanted to purchase whilst she was waiting for her insurance to pay out against her old car which had been in an accident.
At no point in the correspondence did Lima Cars admit that the car had been in an accident until after another Friend of Hers had taken the time to, on her behalf go inspect the vehicle. Neither the on line Advert, or the sales person, had admitted to it at that stage. The Potential Purchaser lives more than 300 km away from the advertised car.
In order to retain the possible Purchase and reservation of the vehicle the Sales Agent asked the potential purchaser for a Deposit to be able to reserve the car. At no point in the correspondence did the selling agent inform the potential purchaser that the deposit would not be refundable should the vehicle not be purchased by her.
After paying the Deposit the Vehicle was reserved and the insurance pay out was delayed for a few days until finally, the payment was made. Because of the dishonesty of the dealership in not revealing the accident details until specifically asked, after inspection. The potential Purchaser decided to continue looking for cars that were within her purchase price range and closer to home.
After finding a car that not only fitted within her budget, and she was happy with the vehicle she informed the Sales agent from Lima cars that she no longer required the car as she had found a car that better suited her needs. The Agent said that Banking details would need to be furnished in order to affect the deposit payback. All Details were forwarded to the Sales agent who said that I would need to call the manager to answer some security questions. The manager was contacted and he said that the deposit was not refundable. He stated that the reason for the non-payment was because I was arrogant. I do not care how arrogant I may have been if at all. The deposit is exactly that a deposit and is fully refundable. At the time of this post no further contact has been made by the Dealership regarding the payback of the Deposit.
I am in possession of the full text messages and the Voice notes that were transferred between the dealer representative and the potential buyer. As stated above disclosure was not forthcoming and now they have retained the full deposit of the vehicle without the sale of the vehicle to the potential purchaser.
