THEFT OF PROPERTY BY LIGHTWELL PROPERTIES

I rented with Lightwell properties from 2*** at Totalizator House and later at Cnr Fox. I left Totalizator because of water that was sipping through the balcony and this caused water damage to my Mcbook air laptop and my tv stand. This i reported many times and it was never fixed till i moved out. They did not even compensate me for it even after numerous conversations with the director.

Then in 2024 i moved to Cnr Fox, unfortunately I fell sick and couldn't work . This loss of income resulted in me failing to meet my rental obligations. They locked me out and took out all my property. I paid 1000 and my balance left was 4000. When i was ready to pay off their balance and collect my property, i discovered a lot of stuff had been ******, namely the 40 inch Tv, Water Dispenser fridge, Microwave, bed, headboard, clothes (which i saw one of their employees wearing). All kitchen utensils (plates, bowls, cups) were ******. They have security and cameras within the premises , the storeroom is secured yet noone could account for the missing items, Big things like fridges don't just disappear. When i reached out to the director about the issue he never responded. The credit controller Emanuel said they are not responsible for any theft so i should just pay the 4000 and collect whatever was remaining. Is that fair honestly, expecting me to pay for junk after their employees had carefully selected the best of my items? Does Lightwell promote theft amongst their employees? Ontop of that they had been holding on to my medical records, my identity documents and my daughter's birth certificate. No matter how many times I reached out to them to give me my documents they still refused.

Be careful when renting out with Lightwell, make sure they never get hold of your property.
