Not a great first impression
Our flight was scheduled for take off at 12:00pm on Saturday. The flight was delayed and we finally took off at 12:45pm - not a great start but ok.
On their website, Lift states: Travellers on afternoon flights will even be treated to a wine-tasting‚ featuring a selection of South Africa’s top wineries.
When the cart came around, no wine was on offer. When I asked the flight attendant about it, I couldn't properly hear what she said but it was something about: that is only offered on another type of flight, from what I could understand... When I asked her: sorry, what does that mean, she said: I don't actually know myself. I must say that I was looking forward to being "treated" to a wine tasting, especially when that is what was advertised.
Finally, when we landed, we were told that passengers would disembark 2 rows at a time, from the front of the aircraft. I understood that and waited patiently. We were then told that passengers would now also be allowed to disembark from the back of the craft, so I just stood up to get my hand luggage out so long, and then would have sat down again. A very abrupt male flight attendant told me to please sit down, which I did immediately. When it was our turn to stand and get our bags and leave, I merely asked him that they never said we weren't allowed to stand up and get our bags out. His response was terse and rather unfriendly and there was a definite air of sarcasm as he said: thank you and goodbye.
I expect that Lift will improve in their flight timing as the weeks go on but some explanation as to the incorrect advertising would be appropriate.
Other than that the seats were fine and the other staff were friendly.
