Stay away! The only Project they "managed", was their own back pocket!

Many reasons to NOT use them, the key one's being:

- Constant delaying tactics to stretch the building project out. They get more fees this way. - They pay "subcontractors" on a daily basis. Hence no incentive for the subcontractors to work with haste. - Their fee is based on a monthly rate. Hence no incentive for them to finish early. Fee should be performance based. Don't be fooled like me and think that their proposed fee method is better. - I had to scrutinize all subcontractor quotes with a fine comb tooth, as the sub-contractors they "recommended" very often came in with inflated prices. - "Quotes" were received from 3 different "subcontractors" for a product/service. All three the quotes were almost exactly the same amount over inflated, i.e 4x that which reputable firms charge. On inspection of these "quotes" it occurred to me that all the "quotes" look very similar. Some of the wording was actually identical, AND the respective companies all had very vague sounding, unknown names. - No responsibility is taken for mistakes made, in fact Jevon goes out of his way to apportion blame on others. Despite numerous errors made, I only ever got refunded once for a wall that was built in the wrong place (Read...Delaying tactics above). - On taking over the project, my new builder and I spent a LOT of our time and money fixing Lifestyle Building Groups mistakes. - Instructions given were seldom followed, specifically by the "Project Manager" on site. - Project Manager on site spent most of the time sitting in his car. (So I have been informed). - No project plan for the house build was EVER drawn up and presented to me. - NO effort was made to work within the confines of my budget. - Jevon has an excuse for and tries to sweet talk over every problem raised. - I learned afterwards that their "rate" is way over industry norms. - A LOT of equipment is hired from a vaguely named company "Construction Hire". On appointing a new builder, it became clear to me very quickly that the vast majority of the items "hired" such as scaffolding, building stays, form-work, etc, are normally supp**** by the sub-contractor teams. I suspect that the company, Construction Hire, is related to Lifestyle Building Group, even though this was never declared.

In short....I would recommend STAYING AWAY from Lifestyle Building Group. I honestly believe that this is a money making racket. I fired them just in time, which allowed me to bring a new Project Manager on site. Suddenly everything started moving smoothly, and the project started running within budget, whereas under Lifestyle Building Group the Project very quickly, and continuously went deeper and deeper over budget. (Just saying).
