Life clothing return policy

I have purchased a gift from life clothing for both my husband and daughter however it was not to there liking,I then took the stuff back with the swing tags and receipt however I was told that I could only change it for a different size or color however cannot be changed for a different style.I then questioned the staff member as this was the only store that have this policy however he was adamant that he could not assist me,I am now sitting with 2 gifts that cannot be changed for a different style.
