Sale of stale cakes and Pastries to Consumers

We decided to try Liege and purchase two desserts priced at R45.00 each. We were the last two customers that purchased before closing time. I was appalled to put it mildly when I got home, at what we received I chose the chocolate Chantilly cream ball like dessert. I ended up throwing the dessert due to it being spoilt. The base was soggy and the Chantilly was spoilt and tasted sour... My friend chose the Lemon Meringue type creation, hers also had to be thrown away due to it being spoilt It is clear that these desserts were left for some time in the display area and they spoiled but they were still sold to us which I feel is very wrong. I am aware and appreciate the skill taken to make your desserts etc, but I feel that if cakes etc are spoiling, then it should not be still left on the shelf for consumer consumption. Just having 2 bites of the chocolate dessert gave me an upset stomach and vomiting. This can very easily cause food poisoning and make people sick It is because of this experience, that I will not purchase anything from Liege again
