Review of Liebcon (Pty) Ltd – Contractor: Wouter Liebenberg

I contracted Wouter Liebenberg, CEO of Liebcon (Pty) Ltd in the Somerset West/Strand area, for multiple home improvement projects. My experience began positively but unfortunately deteriorated to a point where I feel it is important to share my experience for the benefit of others. Wouter initially completed a carport for me, and the quality of that work encouraged me to trust him with a larger renovation of my garden flat. In the early stages, communication was good. However, his team worked slowly and often did not follow clear instructions, such as cleaning tile cement before grouting and ensuring tiles were level. Whenever Wouter visited the site, he gave assurances, but the work did not reflect those commitments. As the project continued well beyond expected timelines, Wouter dismissed his team leader, citing delays. Around this time, he also mentioned personal difficulties, and I continued to be patient and supportive. In December, he requested a progress payment that exceeded the value of the work completed, but I paid it in good faith. From January onward, communication declined significantly. Wouter stopped arriving on site and provided various explanations for the delays. I gave him additional time to resolve matters, but he eventually stopped responding to calls, messages, and emails. He sent one email requesting a few days, but after I rep**** and asked for clarity on completing the work, I received no further communication. The project remains unfinished, and I now need to appoint another contractor at additional cost. I have been patient and accommodating throughout this process. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend Liebcon (Pty) Ltd or Wouter Liebenberg. If anyone requires further details, I am willing to share my experience privately.
