Randburg Licencing Department for over 60's

Since the lockdown we've been unable to get booking slots for Renewal of Drivers Licence but were told that if you're over 60 you can go along without a booking on Wednesdays. I've been for 3 consecutive Wednesday. First Wednesday I had been in the queue for about 4 hours and they came out and cut it off just in front of me and we were told to go home and come next Wednesday. So last Wednesday I was nearing the front of the queue only to be told your eye test expires in 3 months which mine had but I wasn't aware of this. So I had to go home and get another eye test done. went back today earlier at just after 8 and took 20 minutes to find parking only to find when I got to the queue it had already been cut off for the day. They either need to get more staff to handle the backlog or find a more efficient way of handling this. Old people cannot stand in the heat of the day for over 4 hours and then be told to go home as they have their quota for the day. This is just not acceptable. Maybe the Licencing Department can take lessons from Home Affairs who handle a lot of people efficiently and are very friendly and if they see you are a pensioner bring you to the front of the queue. I know the licencing Department can't do this as we're all pensioners. Please can the power in charge address this problem as it is just not acceptable. Concerned citizen
