On the 6 May 2022 I went to the licencing department to renew my vehicle licence. When it's my turn at the counter, the lady said to me I need to have a copy of my ID. I was so frustrated, I just left. Once outside, this young person came up to me and ask me what's wrong. I explained about the copy of the ID and he appear to be very helpful. I said that I'll come back at a later stage, but he insisted to "help" me. Before I could say or do anything, he had my licensing papers and he run off. I asked the bystanders where he went, and they said, he works there and he will help me. I sat in my car and waited for nearly a hour. When he finally pitched without my papers, he explained that it's being processed. I waited for another hour and then he said my licence is ready. I must come with him. All happened in very great haste. I swiped for my licence and I started going back to my car. I thanked him and asked him how much I owe him. He said nothing. So, when I reached my car, he said he wanted R200. I refused and climb into my car, wanted to go, but he stopped me and insisted on the money. He grabbed my window and tried to prevent me from leaving. I wanted to report this at the police station, but I really didn't want to go there. So, I forgot about it, but this morning when I was stepping out of my car to do grocery shopping, he was there. He said owe them money. So, I threatened him with to the police and he ran away. I am very concerned about this, because I'm a single, older women. It seems to me that they target people like me. The lady behind the counter ( TS Lusenga) obviously called him from a cellphone to inform him about his next target. I never needed a copy of my ID. And now he is cornering me. How did he know where I shop? I am very concerned.
