Certified Documents / Notarised Affidavit

Hi. Just thought i would share my story with someone in this group to see if perhaps you might have had a similar experience at to what myself and my wife is currently experiencing in the Netherlands. A month before we emigrated from South Africa to the Netherlands on the 4th December 2021, we had our drivers licensed renewed. We received the temporary licences as per normal until we receive a notification to let us know that we can eventually collect or driver license cards. As it takes a while for this process to take place we eventually had to leave with only our temporary driver licence documents. I immigrated to the Netherlands as a skilled migrant worker and i qualify to get my Dutch drivers licence by presenting my South African drivers license(which is the temp SA one) to the RDW and in turn they present me with the Dutch drivers license. The RDW in turn declined it and asked for the original card to be presented to them otherwise they cannot proceed with the application. In order for us to obtain this we need a signed affidavit thats my father in Cape Town is able to collect the documents on our behalf and that we are unable to do so due to the fact that we are now resident in the Netherlands. We then couriered the signed documents with our RSA identity cards to my father who in turn had it certified at the police station. When he got the license department in Durbanville they did not want to accept it and they asked for proof that we left the country such as our passports as well as our plain tickets. We then decided to have all our documents verified by a notary within Huizen sealed and stamped and that cost a pretty penny as well. We then had that sent by courier to my father as well. He then went back with the Authorised pack and they still said its not valid. Like ***. So now the documents is apparently with the Department of Transport in Cape Town busy being verified and it take up 3 weeks to have it checked. Seriously annoying and its been a week and a half since then and no one has called my father as yet. Im annoyed and frustrated. Seems as though im going to have to fly back to Cape Town just to have it picked up myself. In total i have spent €250 including the courier fees. How do they not know what a notarised document looks like. It's far better than a certified document done at the police station and they do not accept it as an immediate approval. Im just bother about the services offered by our government. I don't have long to present the Dutch government with RSA drivers cards. They will only extend it for so long.
