Be Aware of People being ****med at Florida Lake Licencing Department

This is meant to be a warning to anyone going to the Licencing department at Florida lake. I would also like someone to let me know who I can contact about this incident so that it does not happen to someone else.

Last Fiday morning myself and my wife went to this department. On our arrival we were met by four individuals who showed us where to park. They politely enquired what we came to do there. I told them that we came to renew my drivers licence. They showed me where I could take photos which I got and paid R60 for. They also made a phostat copy of my drivers licence. They then suggested that because the que inside was very long, they have someone that will process my application faster, all I needed to do was to give them money for a cooldrink afterwards. They asked me to write my name, address and telephone on the photostat copy of my drivers licence and proceeded into the building. Someone, by the name of Peter from inside then called me and asked that I give one of the guys, his name was Clement, R400 for him to start processing my application. Initially I did not want to do this but reluctantly give him the money. After that Peter again phoned to tell me that I have traffic fines that I first need to pay before he can proceed with the application. He me told that he could squash the payment if I was prepared to give him half of the money I owe for the fines which amounted to R2800. I then started smelling a rat and my my suggested that we leave. I then gave Peter a story that I did not have that amount of money with me and that I would rather come back next Friday after I got paid. We then hastily left knowing that we were conned out of R400. We accepted that loss instead of proceeding. I still have not attempted to renew my licence and is looking at a way of renewing my licence that is less problematic. I tried the E-Natis web site, but this also has issues. Please advise
