Worst Experience - Retrenchment Claim
I have been a liberty client for the past 10 years and never had to claim for anything, up until the unfortunate happened. I took out a retrenchment benefit throughout my working career and my financial advisor (Andrew Sayers) was responsible for opening this policy, on top of my life cover. Fast forward Jan 2025, I got retrenched and filed a claim as these are monies owed to me. Liberty came back and don't want to pay me back my monies because of my recent job which was short-lived. My financial advisor did not share information such as premium waver so that the policy can continue without interruptions, he also did not inform me about my policy being a risk policy than an investment one.
Now I had to sell my house and my car to relief me financially, only now he says Liberty also offers a bond protection, yet all this time, kept quiet about such information as my wife and I did most of the research during this tough time.
My problem is that there is no waver on my policy, Liberty does not want to pay me my monies and on top of that, they want me to still pay my premiums without a job, without them paying me my retrenchment money.
I do not want anything else but my money, it is mine, it is being debited off my account each month, now I can't get it? I have been a permanent employee since opening these policies with Liberty.
This has impacted every aspect of my life, having to sc**** for monies to even buy groceries and reliant on my wife who covers 50% OF ALL EXPENSES, THE REMAINDER IS MINE. I want my monies back for all the years I have had this policy. House is still not sold as it's on the market, I am also waiting for a settlement from the bank as i voluntarily surrendered my car, I can't pay all my other obligations, and my credit score is in shambles all because I am unable to access my money.
