Retrenchment policy

I was retrenched December 2017. I have been a loyal payer for almost 36 months. I have been retrenched six months ago, but started at a new company immediatly (I did not claim). Now Liberty refuse to pay because I did not work atleast twelve months for the new company, allthough the policy exceeds twelve months. How would an employee know if a company will last financially for atleast 24 months?. They took almost a month to decline my claim. Why would I take out a policy for incase I was retrenched in two years. This is a misleading policy with empty promises. I would not recommend this product at all. They are quick to take your money but when its your turn to claim they've got a million excuses.
