Liberty Preserve Fund

Good Morning,

I am writing to you assist me with the following complaint: In 2015 I was retrenched from my employer. Before my last month of service I received a call from Liberty financial advisor Bernice Schelling to talk about investing my pension fund in something called Preserve Fund, I would like to believe that Bernice had networks in the company who supp**** her with details of people who were retrenched.

Subsequently I entered into agreement with little knowledge and invested R1, 200 000.

Since retrenchment I have not being employed living with my mother's SASSA pay.

In 2017 my 2 children had to go to tertiary and they didn't have bursary, called Bernice that I need funds from my policy to pay for tertiary fees portion of funds were released.

Currently I have health challenged and have to go for major operation which is a matter of death and life and public hospital the que is long there I am at the tail of waiting list.

Yesterday 30 May I called Liberty that I'm in a very difficult position my heath is deteriorating I want to withdraw portion from my policy to go for major surgery (R100 000), I spoke to consultant Neil Mare who was very kind he explained to me that he has to speak to his line manager and will come back to me. Indeed Neil called me back and explained that unfortunately Libery will not allow me to withdraw my own money.

The challenge is I have money that I have invested with Liberty and now I must die because of the agreement signed. The financial advisor Bernice Schelling is no longer with Liberty some of terms and conditions were not properly explained.

I am pleading to Liberty to release R100 000 for health reasons. NB in Liberty system is still my previous surname which is Poo, I gave all documents for name change to Bernice but is still not being changed.

I hope you will be able to assist me in the matter.
