Liberty Life wont pay out market investment policy on death of policyholder
My aunt died in May of 2016. I am the main beneficiary of her estate. When her estate was wound up, either the attorneys or her financial advisor left a policy out of the estate. I contacted Liberty Life and went through a series of emails communications with customer service representatives and exchanged her death certificate and a number of other pertinent documents. After months I was no closer to resolving as Liberty Life just cant get their minds around the fact that a client died and somehow the attorneys of financial advisor of the deceased had not included the policy in the estate. They did not escalate it or hand it to a competent person with the authority to deal with it, even though requested! So Liberty Life(Kgothatso) continue to send me the policy statements via email (my aunt arranged for them to be sent to me before her passing), and they continue with the policy while asking for a deceased person to verify themselves!
Thank you for your response. I await contact from the relevant manager.
