LIBERTY LIBERATES - MY PENSION INTO THEIR POCKETS!!!

I took out a Liberty Retirement Annuity thirty four years ago. Payments of premiums were made timeously every month to date.

On 1st May 2020 I am due to be paid out a sum which has been determined by Liberty. It is probably only a third of the value I would have achieved had I just placed these premiums into my Mortgage Bond ie a 100% Tax free investment with no charges over the years.

Over the last five years my investment has only grown 0,038 % per annum. The effective rate I would have achieved on my Mortgage bond for the same period is 8,2% - more than two hundred times better than what Liberty have achieved.

To anyone who is considering investing with Liberty think seriously before you act. They promise you the world when you take out the policy but when they have to payout there is nothing but problems and excuses with all sorts of fancy graphs trying to explain why their investments have performed badly.. Then they have the audacity to charge you fees for putting your own money into poor investments. They are truly disgraceful.

Further I am now told that I can only draw one third of the payout and the balance must purchase a new annuity with Liberty which will pay me out monthly. I would be insane to even contemplate this. It seems however that I do not have an option - apparantly legislation requires me to continue investing with these complete idiots. Stay well away from Liberty !!!!
