Do not trust any retrenchment benefits on Liberty Life

I have two policies with liberty life that have retrenchment waivers . i was retrenched on the 31 May 2017 and on the 7 June i submitted documents i had for my claims to go through.

1. For my life cover i was required to submit U19 form, letter of retrenchement and a copy of my Identity document. i submited all 3 required documents and completed the form that was sent to me.

2. For my retirement annuity i was required to send a letter of retrenchment, an initial letter that said the company intends to retrench, U19 form, Ui6A form which comes from the department of labour, latest payslip. I submited all required documents except Ui6A which i can only recieve from the dept of labour.

My life cover claim has not been processes even though i sent through all required documents, the explaination i got was that i was to obtain an Ui6A form from the department of labour even though on the claim form it clearly states that it was not required.

For my Retirement annuity i was also told that the Ui6A form was required for my claim to be processes which i do not dispute. The only issue i have with this is that it is out of my control, i gone to the department of labour and they still havent been able to get my UIF processed.

I would really think twice about taking an cover with liberty
