Deceased wishes overruled by trustees

<p>My father passed away on the 18th January 2017. He had a policy with Liberty policy number: ********** 559 which he listed me as a 100% beneficiary on the policy. After submitting all the claim documentation, the trustee decided that the whole amount be paid to my mother. I just wonder that is the point of appointing a beneficiary if that person doesn't get paid. Did my dad know that as his beneficiary I would get nothing? Why ask a client to list or name a beneficiary/beneficiaries if at the end trustees will be the one's who decide whom and whom not to pay? </p>
