Claim at Liberty
Good day, I have submitted a claim at Liberty three weeks ago and I was told that it will be paid within 48 hours. When I made a followup five days after, I was told that there was a problem with my date of birth and my mother must submit an affidavit confirming my date of birth. She submitted affidavit on the same day. No one bothered to update me of the outstanding affidavit, I had to go to the branch again. Two weeks later I went to Cape Town branch in Mitchel's Plain and I was told that the person that was suppose to approve the payment is on leave and they do not know when he will be available. An email was sent again and I was told the same thing that the money will be paid within 48 hours. 48hours promise resulted to three weeks and counting. I phoned again yesterday and I was told the something that I must expect the money within 24-48 hours. I decided to go to their head offices in Century City, Cape Town. When I got there just after 13h00, I was assisted by friendly security personnel who told me that there was a case in the building and the staff was going home. I wanted to speak to the manager from Liberty but I was told they work from home. I was then referred to the manager of the security who at first refused to see me saying that she was busy but finally after a lengthy meeting with one of the security personnel she came. I addressed and and I was so not happy with the way she received me. She gave me contact numbers of the financial advisers that I must contact. I tried the numbers in front of her they both didn't go through. Liberty is this how you treat your clients? full of empty promises when someone submits a claim? Are you going to continue fooling people around?
