Capped Cover. Full Premiums. Zero Accountability.
If you're part of a group life cover scheme involving Liberty (Capital Alliance), Jigsaw Financial Services, or Chartered Employee Benefits (CEB) — you need to read this.
After electing the full 10x salary cover and submitting every required medical document, I recently discovered that my benefit had been quietly capped at a third of what I’ve been paying for — based on a 2018 underwriting restriction that was never reassessed, never disclosed, and never formally issued to me.
Here’s what makes this worse:
No outcome was provided after underwriting documents were submitted.
No appeal route was ever offered.
Full premiums continue to be deducted every month.
All three parties involved blame each other or “group scheme rules” while refusing to take ownership.
This issue has now been escalated to:
The National Financial Ombud Scheme SA (NFO)
The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA)
I’m posting this to warn others:
If you're in a group life scheme — don’t assume you're covered for what you think.
Ask for your actual underwriting outcome in writing.
Confirm that what’s being deducted matches what’s actually insured.
The silence, the blame-shifting, and the refusal to resolve are unacceptable.
Consumers deserve clarity, not corporate gaslighting.
