Cancer Claim - No action

I spoke to a consultant this monring also at 9 34 who informed me that accessor - Phuti mathobela - wass tagged to the case on the 28th.

The phone number provided ********** for the underwritting section has no space for messages

Liberty Claim:

I Belinda Pearson Liberty client, Policy number ********** 3600 lodged a cancer claim on the 14th of December.

I received a mail this morning 29 December 2016 confirming the receipt and stating the following:

Your claim is important to us and we understand that this process has taken longer than expected. As part of
the claim process, we have referred your claim to our Underwriting Department for further assessment

I called the no provided ********** spoke to Rose, which confirmed the following:

1. Claim received on the 14th December

2 Mr T Gumede send the claim to the accessors on 19th December

3 Phatima Cassima the accessor opened the claim and accessed it from the 19th to the 29th December

4 P Cassima only send the claim this morning 29th December to the underwriters at 7:50

On phoning the underwriting number 011 ********** , a young male answered by just saying hallo.

There was no confirmation which is the company or department I then asked him where am I and that I am used to people being polite and at least say this you have reached company a or b and this is Mr (whoever) speaking. He then proceeded to say it seems if you don’t know who you want to speak to and put the phone down in my ears. This behaviour is totally unprofessional and uncalled for.

I phoned the same number several times and the phone just rang and a voice mail of Gerdhard du Toit said to leave a message.

I do believe that Liberty will make sure that this issue will be addressed, as being a client I don’t want to be ill treated by your employees.

It is totally unacceptable that a claim takes 9 days without any action or even a start off communication to the client how far the process is.

This is a cancer claim…and should be dealt with as soon as possible…that is why this type of insurance is bought! For Assurance…not to have further stress and trauma caused
