APPAULING AND ********** SERVICE AND CUSTOMER CARE FROM LIBERTY LIFE
<p>I originally logged a complaint against Liberty Life on the 2nd August 2016, they responded within minutes and then deleted my post.</p> <p>This was the original post: </p> <p> "My husband was diagnosed with Discoid Lupus SLE and DLE in 2012. He only recently started showing</p> <p>symptoms and as a result he was admitted to hospital with double pneumonia, which developed into Pulmonary Tuberculosis and Cushing’s Disease. I went through the entire Claim Process, submitted all the documents that they requested, which included me going back and forth to the hospital for various results and information. Liberty Life acknowledged the substantiated claim, and they declined stating that the Medical Practioner did not indicate that the patient’s survival period had reduced to a twelve month period or less. They state that the condition does not meet the criteria of the following definition, therefore no claim is payable.</p> <p>I attached screenshots of their replies.</p> <p>Ive been running around and this is the outcome and a final decision from Liberty Life, they suggested that i go privately to the Ombudsman or a Lawyer or write to OPSCLAIMS@LIBERTY within 3 months to avoid losing the right of your claim. I am utterly disgusted with their service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! </p>

We take note of your comments mentioned above and we empathise with your husband's condition. As per our various interactions with yourself and your husband's treating doctors as well as the medical evidence received, the claim remains repudiated under the terminal illness benefit.
According to the criteria set out in the policy document, in order for this benefit to be paid, the survival period has to be 12 months or less. According to the medical evidence received from the treating doctors, his chances of recovery is good and his survival period exceeds 12 months.
We have done everything we can but unfortunately his condition doesnt qualify for a claim on this benefit.
I am sorry that this is not the outcome you were hoping for.
