Lack of urgency in authorization for medical procedure

The scheme is taking more than 2 weeks to approve a medical procedure that is required. I was informed that I had to wait a further month for a committee to meet to decide if I can give do the procedure. They don't even take into account the physical pain the clients are in...

The reason for the delay is that I just joined the scheme and I didn't state when I joined that I would need the procedure. They not taking into account that I'm not medical professional; I don't have a magic 8 ball that can tell me that my body is giving up on me; and I only joined their medical aid because I work for their company . The worst thing is that I'm being treated like a lair, while I'm freaking out about my health and I'm still (on monthly biases) paying the huge medical aid contribution
