Stuck with old DVD's because I cannot change the region blocking - ***? My old DVD was unlocked by LG.
<p>Upgraded my viewing to an 55" LG UD screen and got a Blu Ray player with it (top of the line) according to the sales person. got home and realized I can't watch any of my non region 2 dvd's. OK - so I sent a mail off to LG as they helped me to unlock my previous LG DVD player. Bad news though - only reply I got was basically " sorry for you, the player cannot be unlocked". why oh why do we still have this **** about regions in this day and age of Netflix? Not very impressed with LG at the moment. Will stay away from future purchases if this is the attitude and products they are now selling.</p>

The reason for the regionalisation coding was to stamp out the Massive amount of piracy and to save the localised film industry by using only Blu Ray Discs compatible with L G Blu Ray Players bought in South Africa and having the regional code 2 on the back of the player. We can only apologize for the salesperson of the Dealer that did not explain this clearly to you, prior to your purchasing of it. We will take up this matter with all of the Dealers who are supp**** with L G Blu Ray Players.
It is a well known fact that all Manufacturers of Blu Ray Players have done this to eradicate this piracy problem.
