Once again zero customer satisfaction from LG Services Western Cape

Bought a LG 32" LED tv as a first to try another make other than Samsung. The tv worked well for about four years then the screen went super dull. Anyway as I did not need it I just packed it away. In February this year my LG washing machine packs up so i take it in for repairs. Repair bill was R 3500 and no parts in SA all ex Korea. I decided to replace the unit as the costs in proportion to the unit was high. Lucky I did as we had lockdown and the repair time was eight weeks due to parts under normal non covid conditions. I bought a Bosch as this was a better option to match my newly replaced LG dishwasher which also broke and the two Bosch now matched. Back to the tv I still had a credit with LG which I used to book my LG TV in. On booking it in I told them the backlight LEDs have gone and need to be replaced. Booking fee was R300 bucks to get a email back from them to tell me the back LEDs are faulty and the repair costs will be R 1 780 to repair including parts. So the assessment plus (which I told them what was wrong) would equal over R 2000 for a 32" flat screen TV. I tried to ask them to remove the assessment fee from the quote and I will then have it repaired. Staff are super helpful and said they would check with Morne the manager or owner and come back to me... His response was R80 off the parts of R1000 bucks but labour and assessment will stay the same. I did go to recover the unit as I was quoted by Western Cape Tv repair only R1200 to do the same job. R 1000 labour charge is expensive for a item that only costs R 2 200 new... It will be a long time before i invest my hard earned cash in a LG product again.
