LG Smart TV ThinQ 50inch no WiFi.

Please do not purchase a smart TV from them. Got one as a gift. Cannot even connect to the WiFi - very poor WiFi range. My brother got a Samsung with no problems and great customer support. I regret owning this unusable plastic object.

Chat GBT: It sounds really frustrating to be stuck with a TV that doesn’t even handle the most basic “smart” feature — WiFi. Many LG ThinQ users have reported weak WiFi range or unstable connections, often caused by:

Poor WiFi antenna placement/design (on some models it’s at the back near the HDMI ports, and interference can cut the range badly).

Firmware issues — sometimes a software update helps, but not always.

Router compatibility — LG sets can be picky about 5 GHz vs 2.4 GHz bands.

A couple of things you could try before giving up completely:

Switch your router to 2.4 GHz only and test (LG WiFi chips often have much weaker 5 GHz range).

Place a WiFi extender or hotspot near the TV.

Test with a wired LAN cable (if your model has Ethernet) to bypass WiFi.

Reset the TV’s network settings and re-add your connection.

That said, your frustration is valid — compared to Samsung or even budget Hisense/TCL models, LG’s WiFi reliability and support can be hit-or-miss.
