LG SMART TV NOT SWITCHING ON

Below is my correspondence with LG and DionWired after taking in my 14 month old 55 inch LG Smart TV bought for R12500 and they are quoting me to fix it for R13400 for a TV that is still under warranty....

1st story from LG was that the TV is not switching on because the panel/motherboard internally is cracked, when I asked about the cause of such a damage considering that the assessment at Dion Wired was that the TV had no cracks , dents or signs of tampering when received by them the 2nd story from LG is that the it is cracked on the outside screen...who broke my TV at LG after 44 days in their possession without any feedback or update unless if I call or follow up...they are trying to dodge the warranty or they are hoping I will dissappear silently....pathetic service from both LG and Dion Wired

Terrible after sales service and support from DionWired and LG is beyond pathetic in honouring the warranty and the CPA....shady and *****. Never buy from these people or their products!!!

Hi Josephine

I fail to understand how this crack suddenly came about on this TV because when this TV was left at DionWired Mall of Africa on the 10th April 2017, it most definitely didn’t have the crack that is shown in this picture, as clearly stated in the comments of the attached report given by DionWired after receiving the TV.

The telephone report that I received from Jeremiah at DionWired, 10 days after the TV was taken in, stated that the damage of the TV is on the internal motherboard hence we cannot see the damage externally as it is internal. I find it extremely strange that after getting this report and enquiring on how that internal physical damage could have occurred, the damage is now suddenly no longer internal but external physical damage.

Like I said in my previous email, it is unacceptable that your company needs 44 days to send me evidence of damage that I know nothing about. I reiterate again that as per DionWired’s imp**** assessment, there were no signs of tempering, scratches, dents or any other external damages on that TV. The warranty of the unit is thus just over 1 year, then this could only mean one of two things:

1) The technician was *********** and damaged my TV.

2) I was sold a faulty unit from the get go that was bound to ultimately fail.

I can only conclude that the repair centre is trying to dodge the repairs costs at my expense, which I will never accept.

I await feedback from the manager of DionWired on the way forward on this matter which I will surely escalate to the CPA ombudsman also.

Regards,

Eugenia

From: Josephine **********
Sent: Thursday, 25 May 2017 10:48 AM
To: Eugenia Boinamo ********** 'Rendani Nguluvhe' ********** /> Cc: 'Cars Greeff' ********** 'Zuneid Mayet' ********** ********** /> Subject: RE: JOB19462

Good morning Eugenia

Please find pictures of cracked screen , took two picture tv being on and off

Cracks are not visible when tv is off, you can only see them when the tv is on

Regards

Josephine

From: Eugenia Boinamo **********
Sent: 25 May 2017 10:23 AM
To: Josephine; 'Rendani Nguluvhe'
Cc: 'Cars Greeff'; 'Zuneid Mayet'; ********** /> Subject: RE: JOB19462

Good day all

Josephine and Rendani, further to your emails ,note the contents of my attached email that I sent on the 9th May which to date has not been responded to. I need a response to the concerns I raised in my email which are:

What caused the damage on the TV and how could it have happened as this TV is just over a year old and as per your own note when you the TV was brought to your shop it had no scratches, dents or any other physical damage. How could this “internal” damage have happened?

Additionally, I would like a response to all the other concerns on my attached email pertaining to the warranty.

I would appreciate a speedy response to my email as I would like to remind you that in the lengthy time it has taken you to attend to my email, I have to deal with the inconvenience of paying for a rented television.

Regards,

Eugenia

Cell: ********** 388

Email: **********

From: Josephine **********
Sent: Wednesday, 24 May 2017 3:10 PM
To: 'Rendani Nguluvhe' ********** /> Cc: 'Cars Greeff' ********** Eugenia Boinamo ********** 'Zuneid Mayet' ********** ********** /> Subject: RE: JOB19462

Good day

We will forward pictures

Regards

Josephine

From: Rendani Nguluvhe **********
Sent: 24 May 2017 02:57 PM
To: ********** /> Cc: Cars Greeff; ********** Zuneid Mayet; ********** /> Subject: JOB19462

Good day

Can you please give more detailed feedback on the above ref.

Please note that our customer is disputing your determination that there is second panel damage since there was no visible damage to the unit when it was collected from us and when the customer brought the unit in.

In her communications with us she is adamant that the unit just stopped functioning. She would like a comprehensive report as to how you reached that conclusion.

Further she wants to know what the possible causes for this kind of damage?

What proof do you have that this unit has physical damage? Do you have pictures?

Please provide a comprehensive report that we can relay to our customer detailing everything that you have found.

With Thanks

Rendanin | Admin Manager

Tel: ********** | Cell: ********** 104 | Email: **********
Mall of Africa 422, Cnr Karkloof & Magwa Crescent, Midrand, Johannesburg

www.dionwired.co.za | Newsletter | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

Massmart is an Empowerdex verified Level Four Contributor to BEE

To view the BBBEE certificate, click here: Empowerdex Certificate

Massmart Ethics: Tell us if we don’t do what is Right, Fair, Honest and Legal.
Free call ***or email **********
( Massmart’s Ethics Line is managed confidentially by Deloitte Tip-offs Anonymous)

Disclaimer

To view the Disclaimer, click on the hyperlink:
Massmart Disclaimer
