LG service sucks

I have had an ongoing saga with my LG refrigerator. From around 2014 the fridge has battled to become sufficient cold. During December of 2012, I arranged for the LG service centre to repair the fridge. First, they required the model number and the serial number of the fridge which I supp**** them with. I paid a deposit before they sent out a technician. After inspecting my fridge, LG reported that a part was required. After several weeks they informed me that parts for my particular fridge were no longer being manufactured for the fridge as it was out of production. One one the gentleman I corresponded with, intimated that a fridge of that age might just as well be s****ped. (Now, I know of General Electric and Frigidaire refrigerators being kept in excess of 50 years). What????? A 12 year old refrigerator must be sent to the s**** heap. Well, I kept the fridge and bought an additional beverage cooler to keep drinks cold. In addition to not being able to supply a part for the refrigerator, they refused to refund my deposit as a technician had been sent out. What a ****. They had been sent details of my refigerator model and serial number before I even paid the deposit. Why did they not inform me at that stage that parts were unavailable for that model of refrigerator? But at present there is a huge build up of ice in the freezer every week now as well (this in a no frost freezer so there should be no ice build up). But, of course, LG do not believe in supplying parts for some refrigerators that exceed 10 years in age apparently. I will need to purchase a new refrigerator but an LG product; neverever again if this is their appaling attitude.
