LG Service Centre A Disappointment

I rang LG service centre to book a service for a tv repair. The tv works fine, but the on/off button doesn't work. They can't help me. They said I need to take the tv to the other side of the city for it to be repaired.

What I am missing? What is the point of a repair service that doesn't come and repair the appliance on site. All I can say is my next tv will not be LG. After sales service is as important to me as pre-sales service
