LG: Low quality products & low quality service

My LG experience - Mobile, TV, Blue-Ray

1. TV: I bought a LG 55" UHD Smart LED TV in November 2016. Since November 2017 I had trouble with Apps not loading, freezing and other problems. Then finally in early Feb 2018 the TV stopped turning on at all. Took it to the point of purchase, sent to LG for repairs, two weeks later I finally get a response that the motherboard is broken and being repaired. When I get it back, I find that the screen now has a massive crack and dark spot in one corner. LG refuses to accept responsibility for this - simply states physical damage not part of warranty (irrespective of whose fault it was). So I send it back to them to get a quote for repairs - a week later I get feedback: They want to charge me (R12.6 k) for the repair, which is a more than the Initial cost of the TV ( R11.8k)..... Ok, I wont accept the quote.... well then you need to pay us R342 as an "assessment" fee before we will release it back to you. 2. LG G4 - motherboard stopped working after 11 months, took LG 2 months to repair it. 3. LG Blue-Ray player - this at least made it past 1 year, it stopped working after about 18 months. Not worth it to send it to LG for repairs - I am afraid of the subsequent ******ion cost should they want to charge me more than the initial cost for the repair.

Lesson learned - don't buy LG, especially if you expect the product to last more than 12 months and expect a minimum of service when you do end up having to send their low quality products back for repair.
