LG : Life is Good - Not Applicable for Customers ?

I brought a LG Smart TV in May 2019 from Makro. Within few months i did noticed a white shadows ( assuming that it was there from beginning )when moving the remote control. Apparently i did went to overseas for 3 months and came back then i did noticed that white shadows are becoming worst. Because of this pandemic i couldn't able to reach LG Customer Service to report it. I did logged a call at last for this faulty with LG Midrand in July. Technician confirmed that it is a Mother Board issue and he will replace it. I do requested to replace my TV instead as it has 5 Years warranty ****il 2024) and Guarantee ****il 2021) but he said not possible now it can be fixed. Till today no call or no feedback from him/service center. Seems like they won't bother Customers at all after they successfully selling their faulty appliances. PLEASE AVOID LG.

Good Day. My Name is Reuben from LG Customer Care Center thank you for your message.

LGs policy is that your TV must present with the same fault 3 times or more before it becomes eligible for a replacement or exchange. Since this is the first time you have booked a service call for your TV, that would mean it does not qualify for an exchange or replacement unfortunately.

LG have a 2 year manufacturers warranty on all their TVs so it might be that you are referring to an extended warranty that might have been taken out with the store that you purchased your TV from.

Did you agree to have the technician go ahead and repair the TV? Or did you refuse the repair?

Warmest Regards

Hi Reuben , The Technician told me in July that he will comeback with a new mother board but till today am still waiting for him , is that the service should we expect from LG? And regarding extended warranty i took it from Makro only where i purchased my TV. I didn't get you on this what you are referring ? Thanks

Hi Vijay,

Do you remember the technicians name or do you have a reference number or could you please provide with the mobile number that was used to book the service call so that I may trace your records.

What I meant is, you stated that your TV has a 5 year warranty. I know that all LG TV's have a standard 2 year manufacturers warranty calculated from the date of purchase. So I'm inclined to believe that you might have taken out an extra 3 year extended warranty on your TV. That extended warranty would then be covered by the store where you purchased it from. So if your TV is older that the manufacturers 2 year warranty, and you have an extended 3 year warranty, the store would then be liable to cover that extended warranty, because as far as LG is concerned, it would be out of warranty. LG would still be able to send a technician out in that case, although there would be a charge involved.

Warmest Regards
