LG has FAILED with their backup service.

I have a LG front loader since 2018. I exchanged another brand and paid more for this because my previous LG lasted me 16+ years and I blessed a poor family with this when I moved from Durban. No issues at all. Well this machine is taken care of, I use it mostly and it’s in great condition. On Friday my machine started leaking. I checked everything and realised the leak was underneath. Called LG service centre and I was advised that a technician will contact me and this will cost R550 for call out and repairs. The technician came in on Monday and advised me that the drum needed replacing, he advised that it was cracked. When I questioned how this happens he told me that it could have been a button or coin that could have gotten into the drum. I was quoted almost R2 800 for replacement and labour. After some thought about this, I realised that I purchased this brand to save in the long run, how can, if it was, such a small thing damage a solid drum? When I contacted LG to query this they called the technician and then offered a 10 percent discount, which I didn’t agree to. I’m paying someone in the meantime to Handwash my clothes as they are dragging with response. Please LG admit that this product is not of expected quality.
