LG G4 Boot Loop Issue - Why must i pay for it?

I upgraded my contract will Cell C in Aug/Sept 2016, and went for the LG G4.

Which hasn't given me any problems until 2 weeks ago when i was charging it, the phone could not restart, it would switch on, then get stuck on the LG Logo screen.

I took the phone to Cell C on Thursday 14 July 2016, i then received an SMS Yesterday informing me that the assesment on my device has been completed and a quote was generated and i needed to contact Cell C Repairs Department to accept or reject the quote.

I phoned them immediately and i was told that i needed to Pay R2,800.00 to have my device fixed, i was horrified!

the consultant told me that my device has what is called a "Boot Loop Problem" and they have to replace the Motherboard, i then told them that i will get back to them regarding this quote.

I then did my own research on google, to try figure out what might have caused this problem.

and this is one of the extract from what i found on the web :

"LG Electronics has been made aware of a booting issue with the LG G4 smartphone has now been identified as resulting from a loose contact between components,” the South Korean company told TechRadar.

“Customers who are experiencing booting issues with their LG G4s should contact their local carrier from where the G4 was purchased or a nearby LG Service Center (www.lg.com/common) for repair under full warranty."

If this is the case, then why am i being quoted this ridiculous amount.

Please someone explain this to me.

Frustrated.
