false advertising

i have taken out a contract from cell c in September and was advised that the LG Q60 was water proof even on the specs of the phone states that, and if you google its states best water proof device, But this turns out to be false advertising as this phone is not waterproof as my son accidentally spilled water over it and it stopped working now i was told that there is nothing that can be done and i must pay for the phone till the contract ends or settle it, i need some one to advise me as this really frustrating.
