Do tv's have expiration dates?

I bought a LG tv 3 years ago and just before the warranty was up the screen went on the blink. It was replaced. Now not even a year after replacing the screen it has gone again. My question is what is the life span of a LG tv? Do they have an expiry date? How can a tv only last 3 years?
