Do not purchase LG

I bought a LG fridge its about 5 years old, it just stopped cooling and the freezer part defrosted everything. I contacted LG and they asked me to call IRS Tronics in Durban to have the unit repaired. When the tech came out he told me the unit cannot be repaired and has to be s****ped. I have never heard of a unit that cannot be repaired and it was a pricey high end unit. People beware for LG refrigerators as they now may not be able to be repaired and you got to throw it away. The tech guy from IRS Tronics said that the unit has a gas leak and it would not be able to repair it. I will never buy LG again as this is very disappointing. The unit is a side by side model number GC-J237SLYV. I would like LG to give an explanation as to why their units is not repairable.
