DirectDrive motor assembly leak

My LG dishwasher, exactly 2 years and 2 months old, starts leaking with an A18 error. report from technician is that it's the DD motor assembly leaking and the only solution is to replace the entire thing.

My previous LG, had the same problem.

Please let my know if there is some way you could cover the repair under warranty given that's it's just out of warranty. as to have it happen once is unlucky, but twice suggests a design fault.
