Defective white spots on LG plasma TV

I have an LG plasma TV that has developed "white spots" on the screen. Looking on the internet it is clear that this is a common defect of LG TV's as far back as 2015. Yet LG want to hide behind their warranty which means if the TV is older than 2 years - they will not repair it. The white spots is so common that there are youtube demonstrations on how to fix it by dismantling the TV and re-sticking the part that have become unstuck. This is unfair as they knew about this defect when they sold it - if they sold cars they would have recalled all these by now
